Yes I've been inactive on DA for the past couple of days.... why? I'll tell you...
A few days ago there was a very large, violent storm that swept through the area.... and my neighborhood was hit by a macro burst.... (If you don't know what that is, then google it
) My brother and I were watching TV when, all of a sudden, hail starts to hit the window in our living room. Then the whole house started shaking from the wind. My brother went to open the front door to see, and the force of the wind blew the door open and nearly knocked him off of his feet. We raced downstairs and hid in the basement, for fear of tornadoes/cyclones. It passed after about five minutes and then I felt safe, until the dust settled and we looked outside.
There were downed trees everywhere, and I mean ancient, huge, thick trees, snapped in half like they were twigs. our neighbor across the street now has a huge oak, where he once had a garage, and another neighbor has a tree in the middle of her living room. Down the street, another neighbor's work van was cut in half by a falling tree. The neighborhood is now littered with debris and fallen trees/tree branches. Our canvas shade we had on the back porch was gone, ripped apart and thrown around so much that the metal peices were bent beyond repair and our garden was trampled by hail, several potted plants had to be replanted. Other than that, the damage done to our property was very light considering what had happened to our neighbors... I feel verrrry lucky right now...

Just imagining if that happened to me... plus in Canada, where your surrounded by reaaaaaaaaly tall trees... URG!

Yeah, me too..... I nearly had a heart attack though....
And we really are surrounded by trees xD HUGE, pinetrees growing everywhere.. no snow though!! LOL
yeah.. I would be scared stiff..
Normally I love storms but from what you've described it sounds pretty scary. I think I'd be the type of stupid person who would be so mesmerized by a tornado that I'd stand outside
I've been terrified of storms ever since a tornado passed by our house several years ago, I was just a kid back then,and it didn't help that my parents left me home alone......
